To examine the major financial decisions of the firm and illustrate the role, usefulness and limitations of financial theory.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Cognitive Skills:
On completion of the course students should: be able to participate effectively in the analysis and preparation of case studies be able to approach financial problems from an analytical perspective use theory to isolate important elements of financial problems and suggest solutions

Key Skills:
Course members should:have enhanced their analytical and problem solving skills in the area of finance understand the complexity of financial problems and the difficulty of applying theory to potential problems

Assessment Information

30% of the marks awarded for coursework and contribution to case discussion.70% of marks awarded for performance in final examination.
