Learning Through Partnership: Home, School and Community 4 (ED1117)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : EDU-4-LTPHSC This course will consider various aspects of the relationship between home, school and community and the implications for children, parents and teachers. Topics will include communication skills, meetings with parents, writing reports, homework policy and practice, school newsletters, the nature of families and communities, PTAs, school boards and the development of policies and strategies to encourage a collaborative approach to supporting children's learning. The course is both practical and theoretical. Guest participants will include people researching home-school issues, practitioners who are developing parental involvement programmes and parents. Case studies, simulations, and discussions with guest participants will provide an opportunity to consider a variety of home-school issues based on academic analysis and professional judgement.
