? Pre-requisites : Music Technology 1a. Only available to students on a Music degree programme.

? Costs : Recording media - DAT tapes, CDs etc.

? Additional Class Information : Taught in tutorial groups. Students assigned to groups in Freshers Week.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will learn to engineer and produce sound recordings in a manner appropriate to the location, and have an understanding of the basic acoustical properties of the musical instruments they are recording.

Assessment Information

One edited studio recording, mastered to CD (40%), one piece of creative recording, mastered to CD (40%), personal log book (20%).
