Acronym : MSE-P-P00102 The purpose of this course is to provide students with the basic supply chain and business logistics concepts and principles to better understand the problems faced by operations managers. The design and operational management of both production and distribution systems will be addressed and some methods to effectively design and efficiently manage these systems will be presented. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The intended learning outcomes are (1) the understanding of the role of operations within and outside the organisation, and how important informed decision-making regarding operations is to the organisation survival, and (2) an up-to-date knowledge of supply chain concepts, design issues, management policies and approaches, and solution procedures necessary to analyse and evaluate existing supply chains and to propose ways to improve their performance as well as to design new systems.
