Managing Across Cultures (P00103)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : MSE-P-P00103

This course responds in particular to the increasing need of future managers, working in a globalised economy, to acquire cross-cultural skills and competencies. Furthermore, the course intends to stimulate a critical discussion of cross-cultural issues that often seem to be neglected even by the management of multinational companies. It is believed that a better understanding of these issues will assist managers in dealing with cross-cultural problems.

This paper has to be presented in a power point presentation (10 minutes minimum to 15 minutes maximum) to the group. A handout with the power point slides only has to be distributed to the group. The presentation counts for 20% of the overall mark. In addition, each student has to write a key findings report. For each of the ten sections of the course, (exactly) one page with bullet points has to be prepared, containing the most important elements of the respective literature. The key findings report counts for the remaining 40% of the overall mark.
