Advanced Topics in Phonology: Prosody (P00281)? Credit Points : 10 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : PPL-P-ATP/PRLIN This course is an introduction to structural and phonetic aspects of prosody. We will discuss theories of prosodic organisation and intonational structure, the grammatical and pragmatic functions of of intonation and phrasing, and the range of possible structural and realisational differences across languages. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : Introduction to Phonology & Phonetics (or equivalent) ? Prohibited combinations : May not have taken the same course as a University of Edinburgh undergraduate.
