Foundations of Management 2 comprises the core components of the MBA by Part time study in Economics, Finance, Operations and Project Management, and Research Methodology in Business.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To provide a knowledge of the basic management disciplines of Economics, Finance, Operations and Project Management, Research Methodology in Business, and their application.
To allow the student to discuss with professionals in those fields in a well-informed manner, and to benefit from discussion with their colleagues in those fields.
To enable the student to question professionals in those fields perceptively, and to see through jargon-filled but vacuous argument from those professionals.
To provide a base for further study in those fields as required in the Option courses.

Assessment Information

Economics: a two hour examination in Week 13 of the Semester (100%)

Finance: a presentation on a topic from the news 10%, Presentation and submission of a report on a project: 20%, and a 2 hour examination 70% (total 100%)

Research Methodology in Business: 3,000 word dissertation proposal.

Operations and Project Management two short group case studies (30% each) and one multiple choice examination (40%).
