Acronym : INF-P-BIO1-V A primary requisite for relevant, and efficient, research in Bioinformatics is that scientists from both fields (bio and informatics) are involved, or consulted. Team work can only be successful if all parties have a basic ground knowledge of the respective other field and, most importantly, that they can communicate with each other. Entry Requirements? Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
It is anticipated that students who successfully complete the course will be able to:
-Communicate about essential and modern biology and how it relates to Informatics -Describe basic biotechnology in the context of its underlying theortical basis with an emphasis on the technologies routinely used in modern genomics and functional genomics. -Discuss the relationship between wet-experimental technology and the potential/type of errors encountered in biological databases. -Comprehend and critically evaluate biological scientific literature.
