Provides students with the opportunity to engage with the most recent theoretical and empirical trends in geography. Taught through seminar sessions that are responsive to the research interests of participating students.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

- in-depth knowledge of a recent intellectual debate in the field of geography and related spatial and environmental sciences.
- ability to research a specific field, with a view to providing an intellectual historiography of that field.
- ability to read critically and to synthesise ideas from a range of sources.
- ability to synthesis and critically analyse a range of debates, in written and verbal form.

2,000 word written assignment
