Psychology Literature Review (U00576)

? Credit Points : 20  ? SCQF Level : 10  ? Acronym : PPL-3-LITREV-PS

Students will either suggest their own topic or choose from a selection of topics provided by teaching staff. The topic must be one for which there is either an existing psychological literature or one in which they can use their psychology background to inform them of progress in the topic. Assessment is by means of a 5000 word critical review.

? Additional Class Information : There are no scheduled hours. Students meet with their supervisor approximately once every 3 weeks.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Use of bibliographic databases to identify a core literature to review; to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of different methodologies in research; to critically appraise an area and suggest profitable avenues for future research.
