Clinical Skills, Personal and Professional Development/Vertical Themes 3 (U01472)

There are two review weeks during the academic year focussing on the curriculum vertical themes. Throughout the year these is small-group teaching in practical clinical skills and communication skills, based in the Clinical Teaching Resource Centres in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and the Western General Hospital. Additional training in cardiac resuscitation will be provided during the Cardiovascular module. There will be opportunities to apply and develop IT skills and appraisal skills during the modules and to consider aspects of personal and professional development.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes act as a definition of the core curriculum, provide "signposts" to direct students in their learning, and provide a clear and rational basis for assessment.

Assessment Information

There is no discrete examination in CSPPD or separate marks. Instead assessment will take place principally within the courses and the end of year OSCE.
