The starting point is chosen to illustrate the aspects of continuity between pre-Union and post-Union Scotland. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should have:
gained an appreciation of the main chronological and thematic issues in modern Scottish History developed their ability to engage critically with secondary sources developed their ability to engage critically with printed priimary sources developed their ability to produce coherent analytical text in essays and exam conditions understood the importance of working in a tutorial group, including the importance of regular attendance, preparation and contribution.
