Portfolio Development (P03187)

The course involves both practical and academic skills. Students are introduced to eportfolio development Students are encouraged to engage with current Information Technology used within education. The students will be introduced to a critical evaluation of current concepts used within education today, examples are reflective practice.

Entry Requirements

? Special Arrangements for Entry : This course will be taught in one study day plus blended learning throughout the academic year. It will be offered in both semesters (winter school and spring school).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

- Develop the ability to utilise an eportfolio
- Demonstrate the ability to set learning objectives and evaluate learning criteria in a critical, analytical and creative way
- Demonstrate the ability to engage in reflective practice
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate their formulations and skills within personal and professional development planning
- Demonstrate the ability to be self directed, problem solving and autonomous learners
- Develop competency of IT skills

Assessment Information

Assessment is both formative and summative.
Skills are demonstrated through the use of activities within the eportfolio and are formative.

Formal Summative Assessment
The submission of a folio of work demonstrating competence in an area of eportfolio development as approved by the course organiser.
