† Entry into Honours requires a pass of 50% or above in either Philosophy 2A or Philosophy 2B at the first attempt.
‡ A booklet detailing the courses being offered in them each year as well as restrictions on choice will be available to students to facilitate advance planning. Philosophy courses are divided into three groups based on area.  Students are encouraged to take a balance of the three areas.
* In the Senior Honours year, students have two options for the dissertation: (i) to take two further option courses in philosophy and be examined on 5,000 word essays for each course, or (ii) to register for the dissertation completion course and write one 8,000 word essay on a topic to be arranged with the department.
