� Entry into Honours requires a pass of 50% or above i at the first attempt in either Philosophy 2A or Philosophy 2B, and in English Language 2.
� A booklet detailing the courses being offered in them each year as well as restrictions on choice will be available to students to facilitate advance planning. Philosophy courses are divided into three groups based on area.  Students are encouraged to take a balance of the three areas.
* Where the dissertation is taken in Philosophy, students have two options: (i) to take two further option courses in philosophy and be examined on 5000 word essays for each course, or (ii) to register for the dissertation completion course and write one 8000 word essay on a topic to be arranged with the department. All students who take the dissertation in philosophy must complete the Philosophy Dissertation course in year 3.
