** Students wishing to take the Geography Dissertation must taken Research Design in Geography (10 credits) and either Quantitative Methods in Geography or Qualitative Methods in Geography (10 credits each) in their 3rd year.
† If taking the Sociology Project students are expected to use part of the summer vacation of their third year on research for it.
‡ Entry to third year normally requires successful completion of the first two years of the curriculum with marks of 50% or higher in two Geography second level courses at the first attempt and a mark of 50% or higher in Sociology 2, Social & Political Theory 2 and Social & Political Enquiry 2 at the first attempt.
