The Ethical Life of Legal Institutions: Law, Democracy and the Market (P02589)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : LAW-P-P02589 This course asks how individuals and societies, more specifically our liberal societies, live the life of law. What sort of ethical life do such people and institutions have? This raises questions of the rule of law, constitutionalism and democracy, justice and the market. These broad questions of social and political theory get broken down into moral and ethical questions. What does it mean to say that a society should be governed by rules? And what does that mean for our ethical lives and the institutions we live in? ?
