    Notes: Archaeology practical work requirement: all students registered for a single or joint honours degree in Archaeology normally attend a one week practical course in the Easter Vacation, which is assessed as part of Archaeology 1, and also undertake a minimum of two weeks fieldwork approved by the Head of Archaeology during the summer vacation of their first year of study.

    Notes:Students intending to take the fourth year option Archaeological Fieldwork are required to undertake 10 weeks approved practical archaeological work in the vacations between the end of their second year of study and the beginning of their fourth year of study. Students who wish to combine the Archaeological Fieldwork option with a dissertation in Social Anthropology, will be required to complete their 10 weeks Archaeological practical work during the summer vacation of second year and the easter vacation of third year in order to leave the summer vacation of third year free for their dissertation fieldwork in Anthropology.
