Notes: No Previous knowledge of Portuguese in necessary; a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency in normally required. German 2: Literature and Society is only available to students taking German 2. Culture and Society in 20th Century Italy 2 is only available to students who have passed Italian 1. The Golden and Silver Ages of Russian Literature is available to Literatures, Languages and Cultures students who have passed their first year language course. Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France is only available to students who have passed French 1A or French 1B. Scandinavian Languages 2 is available to students who have taken a Scandinavian Studies language in year one.
