    Notes:No Previous knowledge of Portuguese in necessary; a pass in a modern foreign language or a classical language at SCE Higher grade or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency in normally required.
    German 2: Literature and Society is only available to students taking German 2.
    Culture and Society in 20th Century Italy 2 is only available to students who have passed Italian 1.
    The Golden and Silver Ages of Russian Literature is available to Literatures, Languages and Cultures students who have passed their first year language course.
    Politics and Institutions of Contemporary France is only available to students who have passed French 1A or French 1B.
    Scandinavian Languages 2 is available to students who have taken a Scandinavian Studies language in year one.

  • Notes: Entry into Honours normally requires (i) passes in all six subjects taken in the first two years, and (ii) a mark of 50% or above in the second year of the relevant Modern European Language.

    At least 30 weeks spent in the relevant country and prescribed work in History and the relevant language in an approved establishment.
