    3. Candidates must take a total of 60 credits of option courses over the four semesters of their part time degree. Normally, a total of 60 credits will be divided between the academic years, but this can be varied with the explicit agreement of the programme director.
    4. Students will be allowed to take one specialist course (20 credits) in another School or to take an 'Internship' programme in an Edinburgh associated institution to substitute for up to 40 credits of specialist courses (Scottish Studies taught programme HCA/LLC) subject to the approval of the programme director. Further to discussion with the programme director a student may also choose an option from the suite of courses offered by the School.
