Course description |
The course consists of two modules: (a) The Growth of Complexity - technological and economic complexity, especially metal-working, social complexity and hierarchies, and cultural complexity, ritual and monument-building; (b) The Archaeology of Early Civilizations - the emergence of urbanism and early states in the Middle East and east Mediterranean, early Mediterranean civilizations and the Iron Age societies of temperate Europe. |
