Course description |
The module will focus on reading and discussing contemporary theoretical texts, drawing on historical material as necessary. Guided by overarching themes of globalization and urbanism, it engages with the most recent issues and debates within architectural theory. In particular it explores topics such as space and power, representation, materiality and immateriality, territories and mapping, affect and atmosphere, infrastructure and technology, orientalism and cultural difference, edge cities and post-urbanism. The module offers an opportunity to engage with these topics, and to learn specific skills in the comprehension, analysis and interpretation of
theoretical texts.
