Indicative Module Content
Between two and four local case studies will be selected and examined. Site visits will be followed by presentations on each area given by representatives of the designers, developers and local authority. These presentations will illustrate the parameters within which each of the parties operates and how the relationships among the participants function.
Aims of Module
1. To familiarise students with recent large scale urban design projects
2. To evaluate the process and product from the perspective of the designer, developer and statutory authority
Mode of Delivery
This is a project-based module, which is supported by visiting speakers and site visits. The first part of the module is carried out in groups or by individuals depending on student numbers, the second part is individual. Students will identify periodical and other project specific references as part of an initial information gathering process. The first part of the module will be presented in a seminar.
