Course description |
The five broad themes to be dealt with in the course will be:
A.Scientific evidence and scientific inference
B.Analysing variability in Biology and Environmental Science
C.Scientific surveys, sampling and interpretation
D.Design, analysis and interpretation of controlled experiments
E.Thought experiments and modelling
The five main themes will be taught in two week blocks. The first half day session will introduce the background to a real research question and explore how it might be investigated. The second half day will comprise an interactive practical session linked to the research question. Data will be collected and analysed within the session making use of e-learning technology to compile, analyse and present results. |
