Course description |
This course focuses on the fundamental issues involved in managing all aspects of diversity that may exist within the employment relationship. It aims to provide knowledge and understanding of diversity in relation to gender, race, age, disability and (mis)behaviour from both an academic and practitioner standpoint. Issues to be included are: differences as a competitive advantage, recruiting and retaining skills through a diverse workforce, creating leadership for diversity and developing management competencies to gain from diversity. Different approaches in an international context will be examined, and in particular the role of legislation will be critically assessed in light of national and international experiences. |
