Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To provide a knowledge of the basic management disciplines of Economics, Finance, Operations Management, Research Methodology in Business, and their application.
To allow the student to discuss with professionals in those fields in a well-informed manner, and to benefit from discussion with their colleagues in those fields.
To enable the student to question professionals in those fields perceptively, and to see through jargon-filled but vacuous argument from those professionals.
To provide a base for further study in those fields as required in the Option courses. |
Assessment Information
Economics: a two hour examination at the end of the Semester (100%)
Finance: group assignment (10%) individual assignemnt (20%) and examination (70%). The examination is a set of multiple-choice questions and a case study.
Research Methodology in Business: 3,000 word dissertation proposal.
Operations Management: individual assignment(60%) and group assignment (40%) |
