Course description |
This course introduces students to the core concepts of corporate finance, and shows their applications in corporations and organizations. The course covers discounted cash flow analysis and valuation, including risk assessment in conjunction with this analysis. Cost of capital, capital structure, real options, agency theory, the nature of debt and share issuance are also covered. |

Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will develop an understanding of the theory behind corporate finance, and knowledge of how corporations arrange their finance and apply that theory. They will also develop an understanding of certain methods of research in finance, and gain knowledge of theoretical and empirical academic research in corporate finance. |
Assessment Information
Assessment will be via a two hour examination at the end of the course (80% of the final mark) and via assignments during the semester (20% of the final mark). |
