Course description |
This course introduces students to the basic concepts of Financial Accounting and Cost & Management Accounting with applications in different types of companies. The topics may include Basic financial accounts, Financial statements analysis and interpretation of accounting data, Manufacturing accounts and Company accounts, Contemporary issues in financial reporting, Cost accounting terms and procedures, costing and budgetary systems, Short-term decision making techniques and Contemporary Issues in Management Accounting. |

Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students should understand and appreciate the rationale for the preparation of financial accounts and apply such knowledge in interpreting the performance of companies via the financial reports. Knowledge of cost accounting concepts and application of there concepts will enable students to function as integral members of management decision-making teams and enable them to make better decision. |
Assessment Information
Assessment will be based upon performance in a two-hour final examination at the end of the course (70% of overall course assessment) and a project during the semester (30% of the overall course assessment) |
