Course description |
Conditional on passing all first and second semester examinations, students will write a dissertation (60 credits) of approximately 15,000 words on a subject of their choice within the Finance and Risk field. The dissertation will take approximately 3 months to complete (1st of June- 30th of August).
The work normally consists of a literature review survey in an applied/empirical area of Finance and Risk followed by a piece of empirical work involving either qualitative research methods or statistical methods.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
After completing the dissertation the student will be able to:
- study finance topics in detail;
- identify and and define pertinent research questions;
- review the pertinent literature;
- define a proper methodology;
- conduct research in the context of data analysis or experiments;
- structure and logically construct a report on a piece of research. |
