Course description |
This course develops the theme of personal and interpersonal skills, communication skills and clinical skills, with an emphasis on the clinical context and preparation for working in a clinical environment.
Linkages will be made with other courses where aspects of professionalism and clinical skills are highlighted. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
1. Prepare for clinical EMS placements
2. Monitor personal professional standards required in clinical EMS
3. Recognise financial and ethical considerations influencing practice
4. Recognise the concept and application of informed consent
5. Recognise the purposes and importance of SOPs
6. Develop effective and structured communication in the clinical context
7. Apply the Calgary_Cambridge Consultation Model
8. Further develop clinical skills relevant to physical examination, diagnostic approaches and therapeutic strategies in common veterinary species
9. Demonstrate continuing self-appraisal and record of reflection in the clinical context
