Course description |
The course consists of an introduction to Early Modern Gaelic language, orthography and sources, followed by study of appropriate prose and/or verse texts, together with supporting studies in the literary tradition, palaeography, and textual criticism. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide students with a thorough grouding in Early Modern Gaelic pronunciation and orthography, and the capacity to read critically Early Modern Gaelic prose and verse. |
Assessment Information
A series of written grammar and translation exercises (50% of the final course mark) and a final examination (50%). |
