The Module will involve students in investigation of the Modern Scottish Gaelic dialects, their distribution, inter-relationships and emergence, together with the inter-relationship between dialects and language register. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
| The course aims to provide students with a thorough grounding in Gaidhlig dialectology through a consideration of what distinguishes dialects from one another, and how and why they arise. |
Assessment Information
| A 2000-3000 word essay, counting as 100% of the final course mark. |
