Course description This course comprises Kinetics and Reactor Design. The basic concepts of chemical kinetics and reactor behaviour are introduced and applied to the design of isothermal and non-isothermal reactors.

Pre-requisites It is RECOMMENDED that students have passed Thermodynamics (Chemical) 2 (CHEE08009) AND Process Calculations 2 (CHEE08014)

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Derive reactor design equations
- Perform energy balances for basic reactor types
- Calculate the parameters corresponding to optimal reactor design
