Course description |
The course provides an advanced introduction to specific research problems, theories and methods in literature and cultural studies. Theories and methods will be introduced at a general level. Seminars will also examine and and particular instances of each type of research will be examined. The course begins with an explanation of research proposals and structures before moving on to different and competing approaches to contemporary literary and cultural scholarship. The course concludes with the presentation of students' dissertation proposals. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to formulate a research problem and will be aware of the appropriate methods for dealing with different modes of literary and cultural research. Students will not only be competent in the preparation of bibliographies and research documents; they will also be capable of identifying and articulating possible research projects in literary and cultural studies. |
