Course description |
The course is designed to demonstrate and illustrate the utility and importance of sedimentology in understanding geological evolution, inferring past environments and reconstructing tectonic histories. This year it will consist of a three-session course designed to focus on the role of volcanism and volcaniclastic sedimentation using subduction-related marginal basins as case histories. |

Assessment Information
A seminar assignment and an essay will be assessed. Assignment: Each student will choose one modern or ancient marginal basin, read some papers about them and write an illustrated essay on aspects, as indicated at the time of the option. |
