This course shares some learning materials with Active Tectonics. (please see course booklet for more information).
Part I of the course covers these topics:
1. Rheology
2. Rock failure
3. Dynamic and subcritical crack growth
4. Nucleation of failure of rocks and in the earth
5. Mantle rheology and the driving mechanism of plate tectonics.
