Course description |
The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop the intellectual and theoretical resources both to sustain a critical culture as a group and to support independent study. The seminar programme is based on the intensive reading and discussion of current refereed journal and/or other appropriately demanding material. The programme of study takes the form of seminar presentations and discussion. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Understand and assess the value of academic writing
Lead and contribute to sustained analysis, discussion and debate
Develop discriminating arguments based on the intensive reading of particular texts

Assessment Information
A 4,000 word paper at the end of the first semester (50%) and a 2,500 word paper at the end of the second semester (50%).
