Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module course members will have:
LO1 demonstrated awareness of the critical arguments surrounding guidance
theory;
LO2 identified and analysed key management theories with specific reference
to organisational change;
LO3 related this awareness to evaluate the function of guidance and personal
support within their institution as a caring and inclusive community;
LO4 identified and analysed potential sociological and psychological factors
which may affect the development of the whole child;
LO5 developed and evaluated, as a result of this analysis, a range of support
strategies appropriate to individual needs in order to inform both
personal and institutional practice.
LO6 offered a critical consideration of relevant research and research
methods used. |
Assessment Information
| Produce a written case study (5000 words) which researches and analyses the developmental needs of a specific student to include reference to selected guidance theory. On the basis of this analysis an appropriate programme of guidance support will be developed which will allow course members to reflect on procedures and practices in their own educational setting. The assignment will make recommendations for change to observed practice and/or procedures on the basis of a critical reflection on the process and outcomes and will satisfy the performance criteria. |
