Course description |
This course in spoken and written French is designed for students who have some knowledge of French (approximately Standard Grade/GCSE level) and who wish to extend it. Note: Numbers on this course are restricted therefore Directors of Studies should contact the Course Organiser, Mrs Sylvie Slater (Sylvie.Slater@ed.ac.uk)to confirm availability before registering students for this course. All students take all elements of assessment including the degree examination (2 hours). |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Improved competence in the four main skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing French. This greater competence is intended to lead to greater confidence and to enhance the ability to learn independently. |

Regular coursework including class tests and oral assignments.
Coursework 55%; exam 45%. |

Priority to enrol will be given as follows
1. Students from the College of Science and Engineering, the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and visiting students.
2. Students from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, but from outwith the School of LLC (Literatures, Languages and Cultures).
3. Students from the School of LLC, but outwith DELC.
No students on programmes owned by DELC will be admitted to these courses. |
