Course description |
The course covers the emergence of place-names in Scandinavia and of Scandinavian place-names in Europe dating from the Viking axpansion. |
Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The course will aim towards an understanding of the function of place-names in society and as a linguistic feature, and how names have emerged in Scandinavia and where there has been Scandinavian linguistic influence. |
Assessment Information
There will be one essay, 3000 words, worth 30% of the final mark, and one degree exam worth 70%. |
