Course description |
In a series of lectures, student presentations and group work the students will study both poetry, drama and epic literature written in Nynorsk over the last 150 years, the main features of the grammar and vocabulary of Nynorsk as well as the historic background to and the inner development of Nynorsk - one of the two official written standards of Norwegian. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To introduce and establish a fundamental knowledge about
- the history of the Nynorsk movement
- the main linguistic properties of Nynorsk
- selected highlights of Nynorsk literature

Assessment Information
Students are expected to write an essay of about 3000 words on an essay related to what has been covered in the course, to be handed in by 10 March 2010. This will count for 30% of the final mark. A written exam in May will count for 70% of the final mark. |
