Course description |
Students are introduced to a systematic approach to electronic / electrical system design and innovation. The key elements of the approach are:
1. design from external specifications;
2. problem definition;
3. physical understanding;
4. solution generation with value judgement;
5. "realisation" of potential solutions. Students are encouraged to develop their own solutions.
The aims of this module are:
1. To introduce students the use of a suitable numerical modeling software application for system design;
2. To introduce students to designing from professional specifications;
3. To introduce students to working with minimal supervision; |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students should:
1. Acquire skills in creative technical thinking and design of systems.

1. the student's record of design work attempted,
2. the associated code produced and
3. an oral exam.
