Course description |
This course will give an introduction to the effect of stress and hormones on cognitive ageing. It will introduce the topic and provide an overview of the area and describe the role of glucocorticoids on cognitive ageing. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Learning objectives.
&· Understand the fundamentals of the neuroendocrine 'window' on the brain and its function
&· appreciate the normal function of the brain's responses to stress
&· consider the allostasis hypothesis of brain ageing
&· study the role of glucocorticoids in cognitive ageing
&· examine novel approaches to therapy based on neuroendocrinology
