This course aims to ensure that practitioners have a sound understanding of the anatomy and physiology of pain, and understand the pharmacological basis for treatment. The programme aims to promote an understanding of the principles of child protection, and the legal aspects of caring for the sick or injured child |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
At completion of this course the candidate should understand the neuroanatomy relevant to pain management, physiology of pain, and the pharmacological basis for pain management. The candidate should understand the legal aspects of the care of sick and injured children, and the principles and process of child protection |
Assessment Information
Formal summative written assessment will constitute 60% of the student's grade. Online assessment will incorporate a variety of activities will constitute 40% of their overall course grade and is taken to represent a formative assessment of learning throughout the programme |
