Course description |
This course offers more advanced students the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge of the morphology and syntax of Classical Greek, to improve their skills in reading original Greek texts, and to develop their understanding of the interpretation of Greek authors. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should be able to demonstrate in written examinations, in coursework, and in class discussion:-
- a good understanding of Greek grammar and syntax;
- solid skills in translating and understanding Greek literary texts;
- a more developed awareness of critical and interpretative issues raised by those texts. |

essay (20%);
one (2-hour) degree exam paper - 60%. |

This course is divided into two halves of five weeks each, with a guided reading week between them to allow for consolidation and for preparation for the second half of the course. |
