Course description |
The course studies the work of major Scottish artists of the late 18th and early 19th centuries at first hand and relates them to ideas currently dominating cultural discourse in Europe. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To give students an understanding of the intellectual context in which Scottish Art of the Enlightenment was produced by a careful examination of primary examples in Scottish collections. |
Assessment Information
Principal means of assessment is a 4,000 word essay. In addition each candidate's performance will be monitored through the presentation of seminar material. |
