Course description This course will provide a foundation for understanding normal anatomy, physiology and development of the speech and hearing mechanisms (respiration, phonation, articulation, audition, and neurology).

Pre-requisites Visiting students should have at least 3 Linguistics/Language Sciences courses at grade B or above (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of anatomical structures and functions involved in speech production and perception, ability to interpret anatomical drawings and physiological records.
Assessment Information
Final exam(50%), IPA assignment (20%), Journal Report (20%) and Quizzes (10%)
