Course description |
Course for final year students in Honours programmes in Mathematics.
1. Projective geometry,
2. perspective drawing and projective transformations,
3. duality,
4. quadrics.
5. The geometry of the space of lines. |

Course Delivery Information
Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
1. Knowledge of basic properties of projective spaces over arbitrary fields
2. Ability to compute dimensions of intersections and joins
3. Understand the uses of the dual space
4. Understand the geometry of quadrics, especially conics
5. Understand projective transformations and their use
6. Ability to simultaneously diagonalize conics
7. Understand the notion of singular quadrics and be able to find the singular conics in a pencil
8. Familiarity with exterior algebra and decomposable forms
9. Understand the properties and definition of the Klein quadric

Coursework: 15%; Degree Examination: 85%.
