Course description |
Why it is important to include uncertainty in strategic and tactical planning models. Facility location models - deterministic and stochastic. Network design models - deterministic and stochastic. Some basic facility layout models with a focus on stochastic models. A discussion about how scenarios can be generated for these models. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The ability to formulate algebraically and solve using professional software basic optimization models from logistics. The ability to introduce simple stochastic elements to these models and understand in what ways uncertainty affects the models. |
